Brief Introduction to Hangzhou Customs
On the shore of East China Sea, and by the side of Qiantang River, stands the city of Hangzhou, which is one of the oldest important foreign trade ports opening to the outside world. Early in North Song Dynasty there had already been the embryonic form of Hangzhou Customs' – Shi Bo Si. As time goes by, history witnessed great changes of customs developing and disappearing. However, in January, 1979, Hangzhou Customs was officially established again with approval of the State Council
In more than twenty years after its establishment, Hangzhou Customs has being developing vigorously; its jurisdiction covers the entire area of Zhejiang Province (besides Ningbo city). At present, there are 10 customs houses under its leadership ( i.e. Wenzhou Customs, Zhoushan Customs , Taizhou Customs, Jiaxing Customs, Shaoxing Customs, Huzhou Customs, Jinhua Customs, Quzhou Customs, Hangzhou economic-technical development zone Customs, Hangzhou Xiaoshan airport Customs, and Lishui Customs) , also lead by Hangzhou Customs are: 5 Customs offices ( i.e. Field operation Office , Post station Office, Xiaoshan Office, Yuhang Office, Fuyang Office), 1 internal organization and 17 departments. The staff number is more than 1400 (including Customs anti-smuggling police).
Hangzhou Customs always follows the working guidelines of “exercise law-based administration, keep the national gateway, serve the national economic interests and promote social development” when providing its service.
Our missions are: collection of revenue, control of import and export goods, fighting against smuggling, compiling of trade statistics, control of inward processing, post clearance audit and administration of opening ports.
Our values are: royalty, integrity, service and harmony which have been fully demonstrated in the past years when Hangzhou Customs has been making contributions to promote the economic and social development of Zhejiang Province.
